Koppen's "Spring" shoot in Phoenix with Team Kiel

Above: L-R... Paula, Kiel, Shanti, Hilary
Imagine shooting spring apparel in the middle of the winter in Arizona's higher elevations. It was warmer in Boston than what Team Kiel experienced this past week.  I not only enjoyed the company of Kiel and his amazing crew, but fortunate to have met the cast from TracyLocke and our client Koppen/Dick's Sporting Goods. Thanks to everyone for another successful shoot. New Zealand next time?

Pete's Ads for Lenovo/Saatchi & Saatchi

Here are four ads Pete shot recently with Saatchi & Saatchi for Lenovo.   It was a really great shoot complete with a guy flying in a water propelled jet pack.    Who doesn’t love jet packs!   They shot 2 days alongside the TV production and 1 day specifically for stills. Special thanks to Hillary & Billy for hiring Pete and his team and also to Pete's devoted crew who worked long hours alongside TV for 2 days in the heat!

Katzman's "Happy Lady"

Mark Katzman | Happy Lady from Paula Gren Representatives on Vimeo.

Mark Katzman was driving to a meeting in downtown St Louis a few months ago, when he caught a glimpse of this woman strutting her stuff in the street.  Curious, he pulled over and struck up a conversation.  Erica McElrath had recently lost her job after 15 years as a hospice nurse, but still thought it was important to remain positive and celebrate each and every day... Mark asked if he could make a video. She obliged, happily of course!  He calls this "The Happy Lady".

Land O' Lakes with Jonathan Chapman

A late summer project for Land O' Lakes via Colle+McVoy brought JCP and team to the beautiful countryside of middle Pennsylvania. He spent two days profiling two dairy farm families that have been associated with Land O' Lakes for many years.

They were tasked with creating stills with guidance from art director Barrett Haroldson who designed the "Our Story," section of the Land O' Lakes website shown above. Despite the early mornings and late evenings the days went by quickly. Mike, Maria, and their four children were more than gracious with their time. Rural Pennsylvania could not have been a better backdrop to spend a couple of days. Work rarely seems like work amid environs such as this.

Congratulations Tibor on Hatch Awards

Earlier this year Tibor teamed up with Brand Content to create a campaign for Blue Seal Feed. This years Hatch Awards recognized their collaboration and delivered 4 silvers in the Single Entry Business to Business category plus won a silver in the Business to Business Campaign category. Great work Tibor.

Mark Katzman's Itinerary

1.1.11 to 11.1.11

Jeffrey Lamont Brown - Awarded Best Ad Photographer Worldwide

Luerzer’s Archive just informed Jeffrey that they’ve chosen not one, two, or three… but four images to feature in their latest edition of 200 Best Ad Photographers Worldwide.
A couple cool facts about the images: The first image at the top will be a full spread, and the bottom image was a still pulled from the RED camera footage during the filming of the “Sunday Evening” trailer.
Jeffrey and team are so stoked to have made it in this elite edition, not to mention how many images have been chosen for this publication. You’re considered lucky if you have two image selected, let alone four.   Congratulations JLB!

Personal Project for Jonathan Chapman

A recent project for Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles provided Jonathan with the opportunity to arrive a day early and work on a test shoot. The main objective was to have a small group of talent interacting on a boat sailing out into the ocean. Bobbi Peacock, our producer, put out the word and in no time at all they were walking aboard a 40' sailboat alongside talent making introductions and greeting the man who would be their captain for the next four hours. As one can imagine the setting was just right for this type of test; the perfect southern California weather coupled with a gorgeous sailboat full of great talent cutting through the dark salty depths.

KielPhoto Takes Flight

Team Kiel has a new addiction… a remote controlled helicopter. It’s UNBELIEVABLE.
He used it throughout his last shoot with Tabasco… through the fields.. in the bayou…
and even in the barrel warehouse. The footage is incredible and the versatility
with the small remote copter is sure to change the world of film. We are speechless…
Can’t wait to share the footage with you.  Soon to come.

Eric Schmidt's: "Something About The River"

Something About The River

"Floating upward through a confusion of dreams and memory, curving like a trout through the rings of previous risings, I surface. My eyes open. I am awake."

- Wallace Stegner
"Crossing To Safety"

There is something about the river that draws me in.
And it's true that some of the most reflective days of my life have been spent standing in the middle of one. Because when you find yourself there, waist deep and surrounded by all of the elements... there's nothing like it.

It's hard to pinpoint my attraction to it as the constant movement and fluctuation of the surroundings captivate me.
The course of these elements are in synch with our lives - they're non-stop, everchanging and full of purpose too.
But unlike our own lives, the life streaming above and below the surface is much simpler - and pure.

So there you have it.

Maybe that's where the attraction lies.

Suffolk Portraits by Pete Barrett

A while back Pete shot a little project with Bluefish for Suffolk Construction doing some corporate work for their advertising.    Suffolk is a rather large company which constructs buildings across the country.   He was tasked with shooting portraits of their management and executives.  The original job was produced as clean portraits on grey. He then decided to give it a twist and took it farther adding a bit of style & flare in post which you can see here.    In all he shot about 15 portraits.

Thomas Broening - 15 minutes with Steve Jobs

Thomas got a call from Fortune Magazine asking him if he wanted to shoot Steve Jobs and some new device Apple was working on. It was 2001. He had shot him before and always left the shoot a little shaken but said yes. He got to Apple early to set up. All the traffic around the building was stopped and blackout curtains were put up around the room. Someone put a plain cardboard box on the table.

Steve Jobs rolled in and Thomas spent about 15 minutes photographing him and this little white music player ( the image above is from a later shoot) .

After he left, Thomas picked up the iPod and held it in his hand.

'Mheh" he thought to himself.
RIP Mr. Jobs

Kiel spends August in New Orleans

In conjunction with creating incredible imagery and shooting marathon days, every shoot for Tabasco the bar is set higher- practical jokes, belly laughs and full adventure.  Kiel always comes away appreciating the quality of the company and the dynamic of his crew…. honestly, he can’t get enough of these guys…  This could be the excuse he's been looking for to have a satellite studio in New Orleans!

Tibor's Collection for St Croix, Portland OR shoot.
